Bluesky blocks links to leaked DHS employee archive affecting 41,000, Wired reports

Bluesky is blocking links to a leaked archive of Department of Homeland Security employee information today, according to Wired. The company told Wired it restricted the URLs because the trove contains people’s contact information shared without their authorization. The leak spans workers at Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Customs and Border Protection, and other DHS components, covering roughly 41,000 individuals, Wired reports.
The move highlights intensifying moderation tests for the growing social platform as sensitive datasets circulate quickly and users seek to amplify them via reposts and quotes. Wired says Bluesky is preventing users from posting links to the archive across the network.
Wired adds that the company framed the action as protecting individuals whose personal details were circulated without consent under its safety approach. Watch for any DHS confirmation of the data’s authenticity, further platform restrictions, and potential law enforcement or employee safety guidance. [Developing. This article will be updated.]
