Acer brings Predator Atlas 8 gaming handheld to the US, Arc G3 Extreme exclusive to Best Buy

Acer said today it is bringing its Predator Atlas 8 gaming handheld to the United States for the first time, with the Intel Arc G3 Extreme model sold exclusively at Best Buy, The Verge reports. The debut puts Acer into the fast-growing Windows handheld race led by Valve, Asus, and Lenovo, raising the stakes in a crowded category. It also answers months of speculation after the Atlas 8 was unveiled in May without firm US launch details.
According to The Verge, Acer has settled US pricing and availability details, positioning the Arc G3 Extreme as the higher-spec of the two Atlas 8 variants announced earlier this year. Best Buy will handle the Arc G3 Extreme variant in the US, indicating an exclusive retail partner at launch. Watch for Best Buy listings, final spec confirmations, and preorder timing from Acer in the coming days. [Developing. This article will be updated.]
